At the Institute, there is teaching activity in Surgery, Clinical practices (I and II) and First aid for medical students level, as well as Specialist training in General surgery and Subspecialist training in Surgical oncology. At the moment, only one professor, one docent and one assistant are engaged in these duties at IORS:
prof. dr Radan Džodić
was born on November 2nd 1952. He graduated from Belgrade’s Medical Faculty in 1978. He finished his specialist training in General surgery in 1984. He was named a Full-time professor of Medical Faculty in 2006. His field is surgery of malignant tumors, especially endocrine surgery – mostly thyroid carcinoma. He was the Head of the Surgery at IORS until June 2001. He was the Chief of Postgraduate studies in oncology at Belgrade’s Medical Faculty from 2000 to 2004, reelected in 2009. He is in head of the surgery teaching base at IORS. He is the Head of the endocrine surgery department since 2012. He was additionally educated in surgical oncology field in France. He was the chairman of Oncology section of the Serbian Medical Society. He is the member of chairmanship of Serbian Surgical Association, President of Serbian Society of Surgical Oncology (SSSO), member of several professional associations (ESSO, IAES, ISS, EORTC, BUON, WFSOS, etc.). He is a member of Advisory Comitee of Asian Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AsAES), as well as member of Scientific Comitee of Euro-Asian Society for Head and Neck Oncology (EASHNO). He is a member of Medical Academy of Serbian Medical Society, and an honorary member of the Bulgarian Academy of Science and Arts (BANU). Since november 2014, he is the Vice President od World Federation of Surgical Oncology Societies (WFSOS). He is a reviewer for Annals of Surgical Oncology, Thyroid, Thyroid Research and Endocrine Journal. He published over 200 papers, of which is 56 in SCI database. His papers were cited over 1600 times, and his original videos were watched over 920 times. He is the author of several chapters in 2 textbooks of surgery, and 1 textbook of gynecology, as well as several monographs of which the most important are "Hirurgija raka dojke" ("Breast cancer surgery") and "Rak Dojke" ("Breast Cancer"), which was released in November 2014. He has performed over 10000 surgeries. He organizes and performs lectures and practical training in surgery and several postgraduate disciplines at Faculty. He is named a Knight of French Government in Education. He was tutor for more than 90 oncologists from Serbia and Montenegro who were trained in the best French institutions for treatment of cancer patients. All of them were sponsored by French government. Currently, he is the Acting Director of Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia.
doc. Dr sc. med. dr Ivan Marković
was born in Belgrade in 1966. He graduated from Belgrade’s Medical Faculty in 1991. He finished his specialist training in General surgery in 2000. He was named Assistant professor at Department of Surgery and anesthesiology at Medical Faculty in 2004. From 2007 to 2010 he was the Head of the Department of Endocrine Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery of the SOC at IORS. At present time, he is a Director of Surgical Service. He was additionally educated at the Institute Gustave - Roussy, Villejuif, France. He is the author and co-author of several publications and chapters in domestic and international journals, monographs and textbooks. He performs practical training in Surgery, Clinical practices (I and II) and First aid for medical students.
ass. dr Srđan Nikolić
was born in Belgrade in 1969. He graduated from Belgrade’s Medical Faculty in 1995. He finished his specialist training in General surgery in 2001. He was named Clinical assistant professor at Department of Surgery and anesthesiology at Medical Faculty in 2012. He had practical training in Paul Brousse Hopital in Paris under mentorship of Prof. Bismuth and Prof. Castainaga. He is the Head of the Surgical Oncology Clinic at IORS since the year 2010. He is the author of several publications in domestic and international journals. He performs practical training in Surgery, Clinical practices (I and II) and First aid for medical students.
